If you don’t believe CMS reports accurately reflect the quality and cost of service your practice provides, you are not alone.  Congress is not satisfied either.  Consequently, as required by MACRA, the current system of resource use and measurement is scheduled to change January 1, 2018.  Under the current system, care episodes and costs are determined by CMS after the fact using claims data.  Under the new system required by MACRA, physicians will assign their service(s) to the applicable care episodes at the time of service.  This new coding system is currently under development.  Please return to this page for updates.
